US wholesale power provider Guzman Energy has committed to procuring electricity from a 110-MW solar park to be built by global independent power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd in Colorado.
Under the power purchase agreement (PPA), supplies to Guzman Energy will come from the Sonnedix Solar Foutain project, the developer said on Thursday. The term of the contract, which covers the photovoltaic (PV) parks entire generation, was not specified.
Sonnedix Solar Foutain will be developed, built and operated by Sonnedix, which expects power production to be launched in early 2025. Once completed, the plant will be capable of generating about 312,670 MWh of electricity, or the equivalent of the annual power needs of over 36,000 homes.
Guzman Energy will use the contracted electricity to serve current and future wholesale customer power loads.
“Guzman Energy wholesale power customers look to us for affordable and stable power pricing, reliability, and clean energy. Sonnedix Solar Fountain fits the bill and we’re thrilled to partner with Sonnedix to make it happen,” said Guzman Energy’s CEO Christopher Miller.
