CEP Renewables turns New Jersey brownfield into 17-MW solar array

CEP Renewables, working with partners CS Energy and NJR Clean Energy Ventures (CEV), has transformed a former contaminated brownfield in Holland, New Jersey into a 17-MW solar park, it said on Tuesday.

The fixed-tilt solar installation was built in two phases on a site that previously was a paper mill complex, abandoned in the 1990s. The property owner, a company decommissioning former industrial sites, engaged CEP Renewables to redevelop the land.

CEP Renewables sold the Holland project in 2021 to CEV, which now owns more than 430 MW of solar capacity across New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
