Polish renewables contractor Onde SA (WSE:OND) said on Wednesday it has signed contracts worth EUR 26 million (USD 27.9m ) with a Lithuanian unit of Estonian renewable energy producer Enefit Green (TAL:EGR1T) for works on an 80-MW wind farm in Lithuania.
The two contracts signed with Energijos zara, the developer of the Kelme wind farm, envisage building the foundations and laying the cables of the facility, Onde added.
Enefit Green said in December that it was on track to start the project in northwestern Kelme, which is the first stage of a three-part development. The company will decide on the next stages this year, CEO Aavo Karmas noted then, pointing out that the whole complex will add 320 MW of renewable energy to the local electricity market.
The Kelme 1 facility is planned to start production in 2024. It will be equipped with 14 Nordex turbines with a nominal capacity of 5.7 MW each, Enefit said earlier this month. The investment in the project is estimated at EUR 145 million.
Enefit Green was established in 2016 to consolidate the renewable production units of state-owned power utility Eesti Energia into a single company. It has wind and solar farms at different stages of development in Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Finland.
