Colombia's clean power share at 85.98% in Jan

Colombia generated 85.98% of its electricity from clean and renewable sources in January, national grid operator XM Compania de Expertos en Mercados said.

In December 2022, the clean share was 85.08%.

Power production from clean sources, including non-conventional renewables and large hydro power plants (HPPs), rose by 2.12% month-on-month to an average of 184.64 GWh per day.

Colombia’s electricity system as a whole generated 6,693.06 GWh, or 215.905 GWh per day on average, up by 1.06% compared to December. The system produced more than demand required to respond to exports, XM said.
