Lhyfe gets go-ahead to build 2nd green hydrogen plant in Brittany

French green hydrogen company Lhyfe SA (EPA:LHYFE) announced today it has secured the construction permit for its second production facility in the Morbihan region of Brittany.

The company said in a statement that it is about to start preparatory construction work on the project, which is located on about 6,800 sq m of land next to a wind farm in Buleon and will be known as Lhyfe Bretagne.

With a planned capacity of 5 MW, the facility will be able to produce up to 2 tonnes of green hydrogen per day to support regional transport and the industrial processes of local businesses. Commissioning is planned for the second half of 2023.

The project is part of the Great West Hydrogen Valley (VHyGO) initiative, the purpose of which is to establish territorial hydrogen ecosystems. Apart from Lhyfe, the consortium behind VHyGO also includes HyGO and GNVert.

Lhyfe targets having more than 3 GW of installed capacity by 2030.
