Greek industrial group Mytilineos SA (FRA:MYH) has clinched a deal with EDP Renewables for electricity from 78 MW of wind projects being developed by the Spanish firm in Greece.
Under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA), Mytilineos will procure green power from three wind farms, the Greek company said on Tuesday.

The contracted power will come from two wind farms in the Viotia region of Central Greece, with capacities of 23 MW and 35 MW respectively, and a 21-MW park in the Achaia unit of Western Greece. The three plants will have a combined output exceeding 232 GWh per year, equal to the annual power consumption of 60,000 local homes.
All three wind farms are scheduled to go online between the end of 2024 and 2025.
For EDP Renewables, which entered the Greek market in 2018, the PPA is the first power-offtake contract in the Balkan country. Its Greek partner, in turn, noted that the deal is part of its goal to develop a “green supply basket” as part of a strategy targeting over 2 GW of capacity, both from own assets and third-party PPAs.
“Mytilineos is committed to enrich its portfolio with renewable energy in competitive prices, as it evolves into an international integrated energy utility,” said Yiannis Kalafatas, Chief Executive Director of Mytilineos’ Energy Sector.
