Berlin-based Caeli Wind GmbH has launched the second round of an auction on its online marketplace offering four areas across Germany with the potential to accommodate 178 MW of wind turbines.
On February 9, Caeli is opening the data room for a 270-hectare (667.2 acre) area in the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg which is expected to host 16.5 MW of wind capacity. According to the state's planning map, the planning for the installation of two wind turbines could start immediately and the construction of a third machine is possible after a separate assessment.
The auctioning of more areas in Baden-Wuerttemberg will follow this month.
Caeli Wind launched the online marketplace at the end of 2022 with the object to simplify the process of identifying and planning new wind parks. The digital solution helps bring key players in the deployment of wind energy and data together. Property owners such as farmers, forest owners, cooperatives or municipalities can check on the platform whether their properties are suitable for wind power generation, calculate possible returns and offer them for leasing. Project developers can apply for the offered areas and submit bids.
The process is expected to reduce the time and costs of planning and preparing for approval.
