Renova starts power supply under solar PPA with Tokyo Gas

Japanese renewable power producer Renova Inc (TYO:9519) announced today it has started delivering power under a previously-signed power purchase agreement (PPA) with natural gas utility Tokyo Gas Co Ltd (TYO:9531) for 13 MW of direct current (DC) capacity.

Renova said that four solar power plants commenced electricity generation at the end of January in the cities of Yokkaichi and Nabari, in Mie prefecture. None of them will benefit from the country’s feed-in-tariff (FiT) scheme.

The 20-year PPA with Tokyo Gas was signed in August 2022 and it was the first of its kind for Renova. The Japanese renewable power producer entered into its second such contract this January. The counterparty is Evergreen Marketing Co Ltd.
