OX2 hands over 82.5-MW Finnish wind farm to RPC

Swedish renewables developer OX2 AB (STO:OX2) said on Friday that it has handed over the 82.5-MW Merkkikallio wind farm in Finland to its owner after finalising the project as the EPC contractor.

London-based renewable energy investment platform Renewable Power Capital (RPC) was delivered a fully operational wind farm with 15 turbines capable of generating some 280 GWh per year, OX2 said.

The Swedish firm once owned Merkkikallio and worked on its development since 2013. It went on to sell it to RPC in 2021 in a bundle with two other wind projects in Finland.

RPC later signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Swiss energy trader Alpiq to deliver the output from Merkkikallio.
