Norwegian wind industry services provider Integrated Wind Solutions AS (IWS) has agreed to acquire a 30% stake in Peak Wind A/S, which offers operations and asset management advice and services for the offshore wind sector around the world.
The three co-founders of Peak Wind have sold the minority stake for DKK 90 million (USD 14.3m/EUR 12m) and will retain the remaining 70%. The transaction should close later this month. IWS will have the option to raise its interest to 49% within three years at a pre-agreed fixed price.
Peak Wind is a Danish firm with offices and operations in Taiwan, the US and Europe. In addition to the above-mentioned offerings, it also delivers consultancy services and data analytics to various clients in the renewable energy industry. This year, the business is expected to generate a turnover of between DKK 85 million and DKK 90 million.
“Integrated Wind Solutions and PEAK Wind complement each other well, and by joining forces we will strengthen our combined platform for growth,” said Michael Andersen, co-founder and CEO of Peak Wind.
IWS is already the owner of service operation vessels provider Awind AS and independent offshore wind consultancy Green Ducklings A/S, and is also in the process of acquiring Procon A/S, which offers electrical engineering, hardware and services to the offshore wind industry.
