Manor Renewable Energy doubles fleet size via acquisition

Manor Renewable Energy (MRE), a UK-based provider of engineering and fleet services for the offshore wind sector, has acquired for an undisclosed amount German maritime transport services firm OPUS Marine in a push to double its fleet size.

“With the acquisition of OPUS, we gain a strong foothold in the German and Baltic markets together with facilitating our aspirations in Asia,” MRE’s chief executive Eric Briar noted in a press release on Wednesday.

Set up in 2006, OPUS is a crew transfer vessel (CTV) owner and operator, managing a fleet in Germany and Taiwan.

Following the acquisition, MRE’s fleet doubled to 16 from eight vessels, the majority of which are certified for 24 pax.

MRE offers temporary power and engineering solutions for the offshore renewables industry to support the development, construction and maintenance of wind, wave and tidal projects. The British company was acquired by UK equipment and services firm OEG Offshore Ltd at the beginning of 2022.
