German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has received an order from Turkish independent power plant operator Enerjisa Uretim to supply and install 68.4 MW of wind turbines for the Erciyes wind project in Central Anatolia.
The wind park, to be located in the province of Kayseri in central Turkey, will be equipped with twelve N163/5.X turbines of 5.7 MW each from the Delta4000 series with installation set to start in the summer of 2022, Nordex said on Tuesday. The facility will be commissioned at the end of the same year.
Under the contract, Nordex will provide maintenance services for the turbines for a period of 20 years.
The order further strengthens the position of the German company which has an installed capacity of over 3 GW in Turkey, corresponding to a market share of 28.55%.
The client, a joint venture of Turkey's Sabanci Holding (IST:SAHOL) and German energy major E.on SE (ETR:EOAN), has a renewables portfolio of 1,574 MW, including 212 MW of wind power. The company's wind capacities will be significantly expanded with the Erciyes project, which will be followed by 500 MW of projects that the company won from Turkey's second Renewable Energy Resources Zones (YEKA 2) tender.
