Turkey awards 850 MW of wind power in latest tender

Turkey’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources last week awarded 850 MW of wind power generating capacity between 20 projects in the latest round of the country’s Renewable Energy Resources Zone (YEKA) tender programme.

The lowest bid for any of the projects was made by Eksim Enerji AS, which offered TRY 0.408 (USD 0.024/EUR 0.022) per kWh in connection with a 70-MW wind project in the provinces of Karaman and Mersin. The same company made the highest bid as well – TRY 0.778/kWh for a 30-MW project in the provinces of Siirt, Sirnak and Hakkari.

In total, Eksim Enerji was successful with six projects with a combined capacity of 260 MW.

The same amount, again between six projects, was won by a couple of subsidiaries of Kalyon Holding. At the same time, Ronesans Holding’s Asiyan Enerji has been awarded three projects totalling 170 MW, including the largest in this tender – an 80-MW project in Malatya province.
