German wind turbine maker Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) has secured a trio of orders for the delivery of close to 155 MW of turbines for projects in Turkey.
The manufacturer said on Thursday it has been selected by Turkish industrial conglomerate Eksim Yatirim Holding to supply hardware for two wind farm projects with a combined capacity of over 150 MW. Specifically, Nordex will deliver and install 22 units of the N163/6.X machines for the extension of the Geyve and Silivri wind farms.
An additional 14 N163/6.X turbines turbines equipped with an anti-icing system are planned to be added at the 50-MW Geyve wind park in the province of Sakarya. The project will extend the plant’s capacity by 98 MW when the new hardware goes online at end-2023. Meanwhile, the 63-MW Silivri park in Istanbul province, Marmara region, will have eight new turbines that will expand it to 115 MW in 2024.
Also in Turkey, the German firm will supply and install a 4.8-MW turbine for Coca-Cola Icecek AS to power a local bottling plant of the bottling and beverage distribution group. The N133/4800 machine with a tubular steel tower and a hub height of 110 meters is expected to generate power for at least 30% of the factory’s electricity demand by the end of 2023.
The turbine will be erected near Crolu, in the province of Tekirdag in Eastern Thrace, in April 2023. Its operation will back Coca-Cola's goal run its manufacturing sites on 100% renewable electricity and make them carbon-neutral by 2030.
All three deals come with premium service contracts for 10 years, Nordex said.
