Enefit Green AS (TAL:EGR1T) on Thursday said it has taken the final investment decisions on 335 MW of wind farm projects in Estonia and Lithuania and announced the commissioning of another 43-MW wind park in Lithuania.
The Estonia-based renewable energy producer will invest close to EUR 450 million (USD 478m) to build the 255-MW Sopi-Tootsi in Estonia and the 80-MW Kelme I in Lithuania. The financing commitment, to be realised over the next two years, comes on top of the EUR 77 million previously spent on the projects.
Meanwhile, first power has been fed into the grid from four turbines at the 43-MW Silale II wind park in Lithuania. The plant is still under construction and is planned to have all of its 12 General Electric turbines in operation in February 2023. The 3.6-MW machines will generate around 160 GWh of electricity per year, the developer estimates.
The plant’s construction was initiated in September last year.
All three projects are part of Enefit Green’s plan to have 1.9 GW of installed capacity by end-2026. The Baltic-focused company is currently building four wind farms and three solar parks in Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and Finland with a combined capacity of 258 MW.
