SECI launches 15-MW floating PV tender for Indian miner Singareni Collieries

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is awaiting bids in a 15-MW tender for floating solar projects as part of a larger procurement in partnership with coal miner Singareni Collieries Co Ltd (SCCL).

The 15-MW tender round was launched last week and covers two projects at SCCL sites across the state of Telangana. More specifically, a 10-MW photovoltaic (PV) system will be installed at the storage reservoir at SCCL’s Singareni Thermal Power Plant (STPP), while a 5-MW array will be built at its Dorli site, consultancy Mercom Capital reports.

Interested parties will be able to submit bids by May 4, 2020. They must have implemented at least 8 MW of solar projects in the past seven financial years in order to participate. Winners in the tender will be tasked with the design, engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the power plants. A 10-year operations and maintenance (O&M) job will also be included.

The 15-MW tender is the third round of a larger tender for deploying 81 MW of PV capacity at SCCL sites. The first one of those was tied to a 34-MW ground-based solar project, while the second one covered 32 MW of rooftop PV schemes.
