German renewables developer and operator Energiekontor AG (ETR:EKT) has sold a 13.5-MW wind park being built in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state to compatriot CEE Group.
The divestment to Hamburg-based asset manager CEE was announced by Energiekontor on Monday. Financial details were kept under wraps.
The Julich Barmen-Merzenhausen wind farm, currently under construction west of Julich in Duren county, will be equipped with three Nordex N149-4.5 turbines with hub heights of 125.4 metres (411.4 feet) and rotor diameters of 149.1 metres. Once up and running, the machines will generate around 36 million kWh of electricity per year, or enough to cover the annual power demand of close to 15,000 German homes.
Julich Barmen-Merzenhausen is due to be switched on at the end of this year.
"The new wind farm expands CEE Group's portfolio in the wind energy sector with a technologically mature project and will contribute to climate protection as an efficient energy source,” said CEE Group’s CEO Detlef Schreiber, CEO of the CEE Group, adding that the project is set to bring long-term stable cash flows.
The deal follows CEE Group’s purchase of the 13.5-MW Waldfeucht onshore wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia from Energiekontor. The acquisition was made in 2019.
