Singaporean renewable energy solutions provider Terrenus Energy and domestic engineering contractor Digo Corp have won a tender to install 70 MWp of solar panels across housing buildings and government sites.
The tie-up has been successful in the Singaporean government’s sixth solar leasing tender, Digo’s parent company Alpina Holdings said on Thursday.
Under the award, the two partners will mount solar photovoltaic (PV) panels across 1,198 housing blocks and 57 government locations, as well as smart electrical sub-meters at the housing blocks. Installation works are planned to begin in the third quarter, with the PV systems due to be switched on by the first quarter of 2025.
To implement the project, Digo and Terrenus will set up a joint venture (JV). The companies said they are holding preliminary talks in relation to the agreement.
The leasing tender was held under Singapore’s SolarNova programme, which is led by the country’s public housing authority Housing Development Block (HDB) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). The scheme is targeting 540 MWp of solar installed on HDB blocks by 2030. Its seventh round, for 75 MWp of capacity, kicked off in February.
