(ADPnews) - Jun 14, 2011 - German company Belectric Drive announced it has won an Intersolar award in the photovoltaics (PV) category for its electric car charging boxes.
Belectric Drive produces intelligent charging systems that combine PV and electromobility. The boxes for charging electric vehicles form a network that is connected to solar power plants. The whole charging infrastructure can be monitored and managed via an online portal.
The 20th edition of the Intersolar trade fair took place from June 8 to June 10 in Munich with 2,280 represented companies from 47 countries. For the fourth year, prizes were awarded to companies in the fields of PV, PV production technology and solar thermal power. This time, 128 companies vied for the prizes, which are awarded on the basis of technological innovation, environmental, social and industrial benefits and commercial viability. Belectric Drive's charging solution impressed the jury with its modular design and flexibility.
The company said it will keep developing the technology so that electromobility becomes part of everyday life in several years.
