-- Vestas takes lion's share in 700-MW Aussie wind project

Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) has acquired a majority stake in a project that will become part of an up to 4-GW wind, solar and storage complex in New South Wales.

-- Nigerian distributed solar firm Arnergy secures USD 9m in financing

Nigerian distributed utility company Arnergy has closed a USD-9-million Series A funding round led by Breakthrough Energy Ventures (BEV).

-- REST takes full control of 206-MW Collgar wind farm in Western Australia

Australia’s Retail Employees Superannuation Trust (REST) announced it has acquired the 60% it did not already own in the 206-MW Collgar wind farm in Western Australia, thus becoming its sole owner.

-- Brookfield willing to buy majority stake in Suzlon - report

Canada's Brookfield Asset Management Inc (TSE:BAM.A) is interested in buying a majority stake in Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy Ltd (BOM:532667), the latter told its lenders according to local media.

-- Empire District cleared to buy 600 MW of Kansas, Missouri wind

Liberty Utilities-Empire District has obtained regulatory approval to acquire up to 600 MW of wind projects in Missouri and Kansas, it announced.

-- Enel, Total give up on buying Eneco - report

Energy majors Total SA (EPA:FP) of France and Enel SpA (BIT:ENEL) of Italy have both dropped out of the race to acquire Dutch utility Eneco, Reuters reports, quoting informed sources.

-- Voltalia kicks off EUR-376m capital hike to fund growth

French renewable power producer Voltalia SA (EPA:VLTSA) launched a capital hike in an effort to raise EUR 376 million gross so it could boost power generating capacity.

-- BNDES concerned about Alto Sertao III loan - report

The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) is concerned about the roughly BRL-1-billion loan it extended to the 743-MW Alto Sertao III wind complex due to the uncertainty surrounding the planned sale of the project and its existing off-take contracts, Reuters reports.

-- Wallbox nets EUR 15m in Iberdrola-led funding round

Wallbox, a Spanish developer of smart electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, has completed a funding round securing EUR 15 million which it will use to cement its position in Europe and expand globally.

-- I Squared Capital selling hydro platform to Ontario Power Generation

Global infrastructure investment manager I Squared Capital has inked a deal to sell Cube Hydro Partners, owner of 385 MW of small to mid-sized, run-of-the-river and peaking hydropower plants.

-- BlackRock eyes up to USD 5bn of Asia-Pacific renewables in 5 years - report

BlackRock Real Assets intends to raise invested capital in Asia-Pacific renewables to between USD 3 billion and USD 5 billion over the next three to five years, a director told Bloomberg.

-- Italy's Alerion Clean Power to buy 36-MW Spanish wind park

Italian wind power producer Alerion Clean Power SpA (BIT:ARN) has agreed a EUR-41-million purchase to mark its entry into Spain, which is about to become one of the company’s main markets in the coming years.

-- Bondholders ready to pour USD 30bn in PG&E to quickly exit bankruptcy

A committee formed by bondholders of Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) proposed an investment of up to USD 30 billion in the debt-laden Californian utility under a plan of reorganisation they say would allow the company to emerge successfully from Chapter 11 by the end of the year or soon after that.

-- ERG acquires 224 MW of wind projects in Germany

Italian energy company ERG SpA (BIT:ERG) said it has closed the acquisition of a 224-MW wind power pipeline from German firm Windwaerts Energie GmbH.

-- Solar protection plans provider Omnidian bags USD 15m

US solar protection plans provider Omnidian Inc has raised USD 15 million in a Series A capital raise led by New York-based insurtech investor IA Capital Group Inc.

-- SIMEC Atlantis drops hydro buy to get more funds, posts expanded 2018 loss

SIMEC Atlantis Energy Ltd (LON:SAE) has secured additional funds for the execution of its 220-MW Uskmouth waste-to-energy conversion project after cancelling the purchase of certain hydro assets from its largest shareholder.

-- TRIG grows French wind portfolio with new acquisitions

The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd (LON:TRIG) announced it acquired stakes in 123.8 MW of onshore wind farms in France, with which its portfolio reaches 1,509 MW.

-- Tilt Renewables mulls selling 270-MW wind farm in S Australia

New Zealand-based Tilt Renewables Ltd (NZE:TLT) has decided to carry out a strategic review of its largest asset -- the 270-MW Snowtown 2 wind farm in South Australia.

-- India's NTPC, Powergrid to create electricity distribution JV

Indian energy conglomerate NTPC Ltd (BOM:532555) and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BOM:532898), or Powergrid, will form an equally-held electricity distribution joint venture that will operate in various states and union territories within the country.

-- Amtech sells SoLayTec solar business, negotiating Tempress deal

US capital equipment manufacturer Amtech Systems Inc (NASDAQ:ASYS) has sold its SoLayTec solar machinery business and is holding talks with parties interested in buying Dutch diffusion furnace systems maker Tempress.
