Spanish electric utility Iberdrola SA (BME:IBE) produced 73,719 GWh of power from its renewables across the world in 2021, up 8.7% year-on-year, the company said in the preliminary energy report.
During the fourth quarter, the production output from renewables rose by 3.9% to 18,581 GWh.
The amount of installed renewable energy capacity increased as well, by 9.2% on the year to reach a worldwide total of 38,035 MW at the end of December. This figure also includes the capacity of large hydroelectric plants, batteries and 13 MW of fuel cells.

Over the course of 2021, Iberdrola added new capacity in all of its markets worldwide. Renewable power production also rose in 2021, in varying degrees: Spain (+9.7%), UK (+0.6%), US (+0.2%), Mexico (+63.8%), Brazil (+11.7%) and Iberdrola Energia Internacional, formerly the Rest of the World market, (+28.0%).
