ReVolve secures land for 300-MW wind project in Mexico

North America-focused developer ReVolve Renewable Power Corp (CVE:REVV) has signed land option agreements to secure 10,500 hectares (25,946 acres) of space for a new wind farm project in the state of Nuevo Leon, north-east Mexico.

The Canada-listed company said that the area is located adjacent to its 400-MW Presa Nueva wind project site that is being developed in the municipality of General Bravo. The new piece of land will be combined into a third phase of the Presa Nueva project to add up to 300 MW.

The Presa Nueva development is said to be located in a wind resource-rich part of north-east Mexico and is close to the high-voltage transmission network serving the city of Monterrey and the surrounding areas.

ReVolve says it will start initial development work on the Presa Nueva phase III in the coming weeks, with a view to reach the ready-to-build stage in 2025. This will give the company enough time to analyse the possibility of adding other technologies, such as battery storage and green hydrogen scheme, into the overall project design, ReVolve added.

With the latest addition, ReVolve now has a portfolio of some 1,500 MW of wind projects in development in Mexico.
